The Path of Recovery and the Ripple Effect in the Web of Life
On the path of recovery, it is often said that it takes one day to create a bad habit and 30 days to create a new one. Reflecting on this skewed balance of opposing forces—a ratio of one to 30—similarly, for every day of vice or overindulgence, there are three days of karmic undoing. Would such a principle that is valid in the recovery world also be valid in the spiritual?
Surely, we’ve heard of the concept of karma. It might also be possible that with every cause and effect, with every action and reaction, whether direct or indirect, there are also ramifications in the web of life.
For every day of overindulgence, there are three days of undoing. The intent of understanding this empowers the responsibility of choices, fully recognizing and understanding the ripple effect in the web of life.
