Awakening Through Introspection: The Seeker’s Journey Beyond Ego

Awakening Through Introspection: The Seeker’s Journey Beyond Ego

In contemplation of the hidden arts and sciences to Know Thyself, the seeker has no other choice but to engage in self-reflective questions, either with oneself or with a teacher, in pursuit of a deeper understanding of oneself.

If you do not look into the mirror of your own introspection, how will you cultivate the self-awareness needed to distance yourself from yourself?

If you fail to do this, you then become encapsulated, engulfed, and swallowed by your own ego and narcissism, pedestaled by your own grandiosity, obsessed with your own image. Anything that questions the reputation of your image, that would tarnish or blemish the illusion of grandeur you have inflated, will be met with a reactionary backlash. You will cast out and excommunicate anything that may question your perceived self-worth.

However, if you do not identify with the trappings of the ego and distance yourself from this illusory sense of self, you may then identify with something transcendent and far greater. You come to recognize and truly realize that you are not just in physical form but something deeper, or that deeper self taking shape in this time, place, person, and space.

For what extent and reason do we continue? For the greater purpose and grand collective truth of it all. Self-determined and urged in every moment of our waking existence.

However, for the seeker or for the sleepers, none of this is possible if you remain asleep. Ergo, there is no other choice but to wake up.
