Embarking on the Path of an Authentic Self-Realization
One of the greatest notions I have come to fully embrace is the understanding that the journey to enlightenment and authentic self-realization is a unique experience, intricate and subjective, woven between the individual, the world, and their own higher power. You cannot force another person to fit into any paradigm of authentic self-realization; it is called self realization for a reason.
I cannot describe what a mango tastes like to someone who has never tasted a mango. I cannot describe the color blue to someone who has never seen color. These are intangible realities that cannot be thrust upon an individual if they have no notion of them. They must be encountered; they must be experienced.
Any framework imposed on an individual is merely indoctrination, conformity, or behavioral reinforcement. Perhaps, with good intention, it is an education meant to cultivate an offspring with a value system that is socially acceptable and that will contribute toward success. This is admirable and surely the responsibility of any good parent. However, when indoctrination or conformity reinforcement stifles or oppresses an individual’s innate authenticity, it becomes challenging for that individual to differentiate themselves from the forced assimilation.
Individuality is the unique process of self-empowerment, allowing one to fully step into their own, expressing the unique diversity of creation, and sharing those gifts with the world. The personal relationship with one’s higher power, their own inner genius, and perhaps the Transcendent, must be pursued in the honest, heartfelt chambers of self-reflection, introspection, and contemplation. It is in these spaces that insight into the possible inspirations of an eternal becoming can be found. “I Will Be, What I Will Be”
