The Symphony of the Senses: Becoming What We Consume
In the poetic dance of life, we often encounter the notion that “you are what you eat.” This age-old metaphor, though seemingly simplistic, invites us to delve deeper into the myriad dimensions of our existence. We are not confined to a single sense; rather, we embody a symphony of at least six senses, each playing its part in shaping who we are. What we receive, we feed, and as we absorb more of something, we inevitably begin to mirror that very thing.
Our inclinations, whether towards a product, an addiction, or a behavior, shape our vibrations in alignment with these attachments. Codependency and attachment argue that the devourer is, in turn, devoured by the object of desire. This reflection reminds me of the timeless wisdom that is echoed in various corners of the world: “Watch your thoughts, for they become your words. Watch your words, for they become your actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
What you think, you shall become; it all begins and ends with the mind. Until one comprehends this intricate dance of thought and being, they remain ensnared within the labyrinth of the mind. Liberation comes with understanding, a journey inspired by the ancient principle that the universe itself is a manifestation of the mind. In this obtuse yet profound truth, we find that indeed, what you consume, you become.
