Embracing the Paradox: The Power of Belief in a Chaotic World
It is important to believe in something. If you believe in nothing, then what, exactly, is the basis of your thoughts to live according to? At the most fundamental level, it is emphasized in cognitive-behavioral therapy the significance of remaining self-aware of your thoughts. Thousands of thoughts sweep through the human mind, and these thoughts can confine us just as easily as they can liberate us.
Even when people declare that they believe in nothing, I argue that you must believe in something— even if that something is fundamentally nothing. For within that paradox lies a cognitive schema of sorts, one that you may not even be aware of. Much of human reality is constructed by these cogs in a multidimensional schema. Your schema may not align with conventional structures, yet it may still possess a structure of its own, hidden within the recesses of your mind.
You may or may not be aware of it, or perhaps you simply choose not to disclose it. Even what appears chaotic has its own reason, for within chaos is but a subtle and apparent system of order. In this paradox between belief and uncertainty, uncovered are the threads that weave together the fabric of existence, revealing that even in the chaos, there is a profound symmetry awaiting to be re-discovered.
