Reflections on Conflict: A Journey Through the Human Condition

Reflections on Conflict: A Journey Through the Human Condition

An interesting topic presented in session was the nature of human affairs: Why is there so much conflict? Why are human beings bred with a tendency toward hypocrisy, ignorance, and a design that seems inherently predisposed to conflict? It’s almost as if, on average, human beings are incapable of existing without a certain level of discord.

For the individual attempting to process these existential unknowns, it feels as though the trauma itself seeks to understand why things are the way they are. In this particular case, at the heart of this struggle lies a profound question: “Why were those who were entrusted to care for me incapable of doing so? Why? Why did this happen to me?” This inquiry encapsulates the essence of what the client grapples with beneath the surface.

It reflects the byproduct of an inner child yet to come to terms with being born into a world that can be so brutal to its very own kind. The client left to ponder: “Yet I do not understand what has happened to me. If this is the norm in this world and in this life, then I must be from another world, intended for another life. No wonder I feel so separated from others, as I live in an alternate, depressed reality, dealing with the aftermath of tormented affairs.”

In this reflective space, the individual wrestles with the weight of existence, seeking solace and understanding amidst the chaos that plagues humanity. When he can begin to authentically answer these questions meaningfully then you know he is beginning to heal.
